Strategic Affiliate Marketing
Even though it can be argued that affiliate marketing is an old phenomenon, in a rapidly changing online business environment it is still a new and developing business area. This highly topical book contains a thorough analysis of affiliate marketing, including theoretical and practical considerations. Strategic Affiliate Marketing acts as a unique guide for both practitioners and academics on how to approach affiliate marketing. The authors explain the core values as well as challenging and combining established marketing theories in the light of new online marketing activities, taking into account the characteristics of the Internet and interactions among various participants and agents. Rather than arguing the rights and wrongs in absolute terms, this book presents a strategy for engaging in affiliate marketing. The authors also examine what considerations should be taken into account before doing so, as well as investigating how to optimize resources once fully active in this area. This fascinating book focuses on how to build long-term relationships with online partners, while gaining value and optimizing resources. As such, it will be of special interest to academics and students of management, marketing and business. Online advertisers and online media will also find this a valuable tool with which to understand the potential of their online return of investment.
Customer Review: Reviews written by ringers
The phony "5 Star" reviews all reference the "usefulness to academics" angle of this book, suspiciously the same lingo used by the book's publicist. The one "0 Star" review is by a real Internet marketer. I too am a real Internet marketer and I can tell you I am *not* interested in theory, I am interested in results. I agree with the previous reviewer that Declan Dunn or Shawn Collins would indeed be far more useful. I also enjoyed the comment by the "student" who says he does not usually buy expensive books. Gee, when I was a student, that's all I did was buy expensive books - where do you go to school? Save your money on this one, folks.
Customer Review: Very helpful
I have been an active affiliate with my personal web sites and advisor for many advertisers via my professional work. This industry has matured dramatically over the last 4-5 year, and "Strategic Affiliate Marketing" analyzes the essentials and the core values of affiliate marketing that remains even when the market changes. This is a very helpful "tool", both for the academic and practitioner, when evaluating the opportunities within affiliate marketing and other online partnerships.

2006 Rose Bowl: Texas Vs Usc
Customer Review: Miserable quality`
I bought this because I was wantinga copy of the game and something to bring back memories of a great season for UT. What I got was dissapointment.
If you just want a copy of the ABC TV broadcast, a few extras that are so poorly done they aren't worth having, and resolution that is so crude that you see pixelation that appears to be composed of Legos, this is the DVD for you.
This looks like someone took a VHS copy of the game, captured it at LOW resolution, and burned it to a disk. Really, really bad, but it's what's available. I guess they thought the fans would buy ANYTHING and, sadly, they are probably correct. So if you HAVE to have a copy (UT grads), buy it. Otherwise, don't support this kind of shoddy, thrown together junk.
Oh, Vince Young is a GOD. Just watch the last 6 minutes and you'll see why.
Customer Review: Great Game, Poorly Presented....
This is one of the greatest games that i missed, 3 quarters anyway. I only saw the 4th qtr and wished i had seen the entire game. Now i can see this entertainingly high-scoring, last-minute affair with many future NFL stars on this dvd. As a previous reviewer stated though, the video/image quality is somewhat poor(the audio isn't great either). During some replays or image transitions, you can see some pixellated images. The closer you are to the screen, the more noticeable the flaws will be of course and overall it's definitely not up to quality dvd standards. Having said that, it still is watchable and the visuals are usually good enough for the most part as the color is vivid and if you watch it in its natural 4:3 mode, it looks really good and sharp at times. (note: i was watching the dvd on a 52" rca hdtv-compatible big-screen and a philips 60" hd-built in tv. it looks better if you view it in fullscreen mode, but i like to watch it in panoramic/16:9 view on my big-screen, which unfortunately stretches the images a little and hence the extra pixellation).
As for the content, it delivers in this area.
* A handful of brief featurettes concerning the University of Texas football team, with an emphasis on Vince Young.
* The game in its entirety, including a pre-game bit with Will Ferrel/USC vs Matt McCounaghy(sp)/Texas.
* AND GET THIS...two condensed, bonus highlights of the great game between Texas and Ohio State, and the blowout between Texas and OU! I was not expecting this and was pleasantly surprised they were on there(esp the classic with THE Ohio State). (note: these highlights have terrible bootleg-looking image quality, but still watchable)
This is how i would rate this release:
5 stars, if you loved the game or love college football, you've got to have it in your collection.
5 stars, if you're a Texas fan. A national championship you won, plus bonus features including 2 other game highlights.
3 stars, if you loved the game or the Texas Longhorns and demand only the best picture quality available because of it. This dvd will let you down in that case.
Personally, i thought the game was great enough to offset the the not-so-great image quality(which is still very watchable imo and comparable to other releases of this type). Overall, highly recommended; but i do wish they would do a better job putting these dvd's together concerning quality control.

The Magic Never Ends - The Life and Work of C.S. Lewis
The Magic Never Ends - The Life & Work of C.S. Lewis is the first-ever major network biography profiling the man whom many consider "the greatest Christian writer of the 20th centrury". This critically acclaimed film explores his numerous works as a Christian apologist and follows Lewis from his boyhood in Belfast through his service in World War I and his rise to prominence as one of the most notable literary figures of the 20th century. This stunning, visual portrayal of Lewis' life delves into his life-changing friendship with fellow professor J.R.R. Tolkien and his short yet uniquely powerful marage to Joy Davidman. The Magic Never Ends includes extensive interviews with Lewis' stepson Douglas Gresham, Wheaton College scholars Lyle Dorsett and Christopher Mitchell, Debra Winger (the critically acclaimed actess who portrayed Joy Davidman in the Richard Attenborough film Shadowlands) and Lewis' one time personal assistant Walter Hooper. The film also features the rich, EMY award-winning soundtrack from composer David Barrett. Airing nationwide on PBS. 2003 MOVIEGUIDE Faith & Values Award, 2002 UNDA Gabriel Award winner for "Best Documentary".
Customer Review: One of the best!
I saw this last night on PBS and was very pleased with the presentation. I was almost afraid to watch as I am used to seeing the courage and faith and humanity of well known people debunked (probably in an effort to make the documentary more interesting) but it didn't happen here. Even the wild speculation about a possible intimate relationship between Lewis and Mrs. Moor was handled as it probably is (the usual spontaneous curiousity that springs into the mind when unmarried and unrelated individuals of the opposite sex live under one roof...gosh, aren't we liberated though).
I think that the factual material about Lewis's theology and conversion and faith, and his relationship with his wife Joy was
was treated in a most believable (read: true) way. It was surprising that, as used to sensationalist reporting as I am, the presentation did not come off boring. Maybe I'm weird, but the documentary kept me hanging on every word.
Customer Review: A "must have" for Lewis buffs (and addicts)!
I really loved this documentary. Not only do you get to see where Lewis lived, played, wrote and worked, but you get a real sense of the mood of the era. Coupled with very professional production, there are great interviews of folks who studied with Lewis, knew him from other venues or were otherwise profoundly shaped by his works. Each interview sheds light on the value of Lewis for both his own age and ours, and why he gains more respect and readers each year.
Regarding the review about the worship of Lewis by Hooper- uh, when was he "literally worshipping" him? I never see Hooper get on his knees and bow in front of an image of Lewis saying, "My Lord and my God." Let's be real here. Is it true that some have accused Hooper of tampering with and perhaps falsifying documents? Yes. Has there been any proof? None whatsoever. Does it seem true? No. I have a suspicion that the said reviewer is not familiar with the distinction between veneration and worship. Something many Protestants lack. Which may also be why Hooper is fair game these days. He is a convert to the Roman Catholic Church and they (like so many Christians) ask for the intercession of the faithful departed. Last time I checked it was called the Church. Ok, I admit that that was very unLewisian of me to do, bringing up denominational differences, but I feel it applies in this case.
Also, if you like the dvd, get the book by the same title. Very fun to read! Enjoy!

Marketing affiliates: Differences in royalty valuation analysis under MMS regulations and state case law : An article from: Petroleum Accounting and Financial Management Journal
The typical lessor might wish to treat the producer lessee and its marketing affiliate as though they were one single entity in order to value the production at the marketing affiliate's sales price. Among the issues to consider are: 1. the nature, purpose, form, and function of the marketing affiliate, 2. the terms of the lease, 3. whether the jurisdiction construes a lease according to its plain terms or considers a lease to be a cooperative venture, 4. whether the prices received by a lessee under its gas sales contract with its marketing affiliate could be found to fall short of a lessee's implied duty to market under market value or proceeds royalty clauses, particularly in the event that the marketing affiliate receives higher prices in sales to unaffiliated 3rd party purchasers, 5. the deductibility of post-production costs, and 6. whether the producer alone constitutes the lessee, or whether alter ego, piercing the corporate veil, or some other doctrine for disregarding the corporate entity may result in a royalty obligation that encompasses prices received by a marketing affiliate in downstream transactions with unaffiliated 3rd parties.
