Too often, the webmaster is the writer itself. And you would notice that writer would unconsciously write things from the perspective of itself. However, this is very wrong! Despite the many different opinions and thoughts about duplicate content, please understand this…..you’ll always do better with your own unique content. Even if you take a reprint article and comment on the article. You can add a small comment before the article, and a small comment after the article. This will help you to use reprint articles more effectively. Writing content for your websites is a time consuming exercise particularly if you lack writing skills. The reason you write your own content is to come up with your own unique piece of real estate.

The search engines love unique content however, coming up with it on your own is not an appealing prospect to most people.

So how can you get around this? Well, you can outsource the work to ghost writers and while this is a good way of making sure your content is unique, it can be very costly when you’re starting out as an internet marketer.

There is another way around this which is not costly and can save you plenty of time. This tip is right from the Portal Feeder training manual and used effectively by members.

Adding Commentaries

Article directories are a great source for content. However, if every one starts grabbing their articles from these directories and putting them on their sites then eventually, duplicate content is going to be an issue. If your site is new, you will have no chance of getting ranked ahead of a site which has been around for awhile and has good page rank.

So what can you do? Simple, just add commentaries. Adding commentaries to your sourced articles means you are putting your own slant on the article.

For example, if your topic is parenting and you grab an article from a directory which relates to a specific aspect of parenting don’t just add it to your site, add a 50-100 word commentary to it.

Don’t change the article structure though. This is very important. All you need to do is read the article thoroughly and then comment on it. Give your thoughts on the author’s opinion or tips and add it as an introduction to the article. In this way, you are not interfering with the article content but with your added piece, you’ve just added unique content to your site.

One more thing, don’t tamper with the resource box. This is a powerful tip from the Portal Feeder training grounds and a great way to add unique content to your website.

Just got an email from Travis…you know, the bum marketer guy. He put together a video on his experience with articlesbase.com and showed how it was actually doing better than ezinearticles.com. I’m not sure you can deduce that articlesbase.com is actually better than ezinearticles.com based  on one article, but you certainly might want to consider submitting to articlesbase.com if you’re not doing that already.

Travis points out in the video that the links in the resource box are “no follow”, meaning you will not get any link juice from Google for these articles. However, the article he uses as an example had  over 10,000 views over a 12 month period. Getting over 10,000 views to a presell or affiliate offer would have to help your sales! Whether you are an affiliate marketer or have your own product, you really should consider submitting to articlesbase.com also, and don’t think you can dump ezinearticles Maybe the folks at ezinearticles will take notice and ease up on their Stalinist tactics. Writing articles can be difficult, writing good articles can be really difficult. Once you get past the process of article writing you might run into something called “article spinning”. Of course if this is the first time you’ve heard of article rewriting or article spinning you have to wonder, “what the heck is that?” As you might have guessed, article spinning is done with an article spinning tool and there are a lot of them out there, most of which do a terrible job.

Well, if you want to spin an article you need an article spinning tool such as Magic Article Rewriter and Spinner. This basically is a piece of software that allows you to take the orginal article and break it into pieces and then replace those pieces with similar content…or content that makes sense in regards to the general flow of the article.

First attempts at article spinners only replaced synonyms or other simple words. The meaning was often loss and the article ultimately was garbled and confusing….but, when keywords were stuffed in the articles they initially fooled the search engines. Now, the search engines can spot a poorly spun article in a second.

Most people submit their properly spun articles to the article directories. The downside of this is if you didn’t do a proper job setting up the spin, your articles will be crap and most directories will just dump the articles and the ones that get accepted are usually poor and low ranking directories anyway….so basically its a waste of time.

The perfect application is to use the articles on your own link farm or blog farm. If you spun the articles correctly they will read just as if a human wrote them, they’ll make sense, have a point and often times lead to a solution to a problem. You will have a couple hundred to maybe a thousand variations of that article. Those articles could be used any number of ways but ultimately will build quick links to your money sites, depending on your blogs they could last for months or years. If you add in some parasite hosting you’ll get double the use of spun articles and some pretty powerful link luv!

The most important thing is to use a proper article spinning tool. I’ve probably used 15 or more through the last 3 or 4 years and ended up using a simple program called Power Article Rewriter. PAR does an awesome job and I’d recommend it to anyone except for the fact that support seems to be absent, I think its still being sold but software without support it is worthless.

I know many of my readers are article marketers or would like to start article marketing. I also know most if not all my readers use articles on their blogs, some use plr articles, some use original articles and a few will use article reprints.
