Horus – Egypt – 3000 BC

Born on DEC.25TH.
Born of a virgin.
His birth was accompanied by a star in the east.
Upon his birth he was adored by 3 kings.
At the age of 12 he was a prodigal child teacher.
At the age of 30 he was baptized and thus began his ministry.
He traveled with 12 disciples performing miracles such as healing the sick and walking on water.
Known by many names such as Lamb of God, The Light, The Truth, The good shepherd and many others.
After being betrayed by Typhon, horus was crucified, buried for 3 days and thus resurrected.

This attributes of Horus whether original or not seem to permeate many cultures of the world, from many other Gods are found to have the same, general mythological structure.

Born of the virgin nana.

Was crucified.
Buried in a tomb for 3 days an then Resurrected.

Krishna – India – 900 BC

Born of the virgin Devaki.
Star in the east signaling his coming
Performed miracles with his disciples
Upon his death, he was resurrected.

Dionysus – Greece – 500 BC

Born of a virgin
Born on Dec.25TH
Traveling teacher who performed miracles such as turning water into wine.
He was referred to as the “King of Kings”, “Alpha and Omega” and my others.
Upon his death, he was resurrected.

Mithra – Persia – 1200 BC

Born of a virgin
Born on Dec.25TH
Had 12 Disciples
Performed Miracles
buried for 3 days and thus resurrected
Also referred as “The Truth”, “The Light” and many others.

The question remains… why these attributes? Why the virgin birth and December 25TH? Why dead for 3 day an then the inevitable resurrection? Why 12 disciples or followers?

Jesus Christ

He was a child teacher at 12 and at the age of 30 he was baptized by John the Baptist and thus began his ministry.
Jesus had 12 disciples he travelled about with performing miracles such as healing the sick, walking on water, raising the dead.
Also known as the King of Kings, Son of God, Light of the World, Alpha and Omega, Lamb of God and many others.
Was betrayed by his disciples Judas and sold for 30 pieces of silver he was crucified, placed in a tomb and after 3 days was resurrected and ascended to Heaven.

I’m just making these points so I can hear peoples thoughts and opinions.

Set was once a great god universally adored throughout Egypt. Manetho, an Egyptian priest, says that he treacherously murdered Osiris and allied himself with the Shemites (the Israelites). This may possibly have originated the fable told by Plutarch that after the fight between Typhon and Horus, Typhon overcome with fright at the mischief he had caused, “fled seven days on an ass, and escaping begat the boys Jerusalem and Judaea.” He is evidently connected with the Hyksos, the ancestors of the Jews according to Josephus, and both Typhon and the Jews were “an abomination” to the Egyptians.

How do Christians explain this?

How do Christians explain the fact that there a so many “Saviours” with pretty much the exact same story as Jesus. Example:
