The fact of the matter is that there are many saviors from many different periods from all over the world who subscribe to these general characteristics.

Here’s a list of them:

Chrishna of Hindostan.
Budha Sakia of India.
Salivahana of Bermuda.
Zulis, or Zhule, also Osiris and Orus, of Egypt

Ischy of the island of Formosa.
Divine Teacher of Plato.
Holy One of Xaca.
Fohiand Tien of China.
Adonis, son of the vergin Io of Greece.
Ixion and Quirinus of Rome.
Prometheus of Caucasus.

The question remains… why these attributes? Why the virgin birth and December 25TH? Why dead for 3 day an then the inevitable resurrection? Why 12 disciples or followers?

To find out, lets examine the most recent of the solar Marcia’s.

Jesus Christ

Was born of the virgin Mary on the 25TH of December in Bethlehem.
His birth was announced by a star in the east which three kings followed to locate and adorn a new savior.
He was a child teacher at 12 and at the age of 30 he was baptized by John the Baptist and thus began his ministry.
Jesus had 12 disciples he travelled about with performing miracles such as healing the sick, walking on water, raising the dead.
Also known as the King of Kings, Son of God, Light of the World, Alpha and Omega, Lamb of God and many others.
Was betrayed by his disciples Judas and sold for 30 pieces of silver he was crucified, placed in a tomb and after 3 days was resurrected and ascended to Heaven.

I’m just making these points so I can hear peoples thoughts and opinions.

Set was once a great god universally adored throughout Egypt. Manetho, an Egyptian priest, says that he treacherously murdered Osiris and allied himself with the Shemites (the Israelites). This may possibly have originated the fable told by Plutarch that after the fight between Typhon and Horus, Typhon overcome with fright at the mischief he had caused, “fled seven days on an ass, and escaping begat the boys Jerusalem and Judaea.” He is evidently connected with the Hyksos, the ancestors of the Jews according to Josephus, and both Typhon and the Jews were “an abomination” to the Egyptians.
I did NOT cut and paste this.

I listened to the documentary and wrote it up. Like I said, the source is above.

Please stay off the biased and incorrect websites.

I could punch holes in ALL of your stories listed above but why don’t we just stick with Horus for a while as egyptian mythology has always been an interest of mine:

“Born on DEC.25TH”. –

No mention of his birthdate in the legends. (did a quick check just to be sure I was right on that one)

“Born of a virgin.”

Horus was the Son of Isis & Osiris. According to most of the legends Isis magically conceived him after her husband Osiris was murdered by his brother Seth. Isis had at least 4 other children with Osiris as she was listed as the mother of the four deities who protected the canopic jars.
I think it’s safe to say she wasn’t a virgin.

“Upon his birth he was adored by 3 kings.”

Isis gave birth to him in utter secret by the river Nile to conceal his existence from Seth. In that he has more in common with Moses than Jesus. No kings or anyone else for that matter adored Horus at his birth.

“At the age of 12 he was a prodigal child teacher.
At the age of 30 he was baptized and thus began his ministry.
He traveled with 12 disciples performing miracles such as healing the sick and walking on water.”

Horus’ life is pretty well told by Plutarch – no where does it contain this tale. It does speak a great deal about his battles with Seth (or “Set”) over the ruling of Egypt.

After being betrayed by Typhon, horus was crucified, buried for 3 days and thus resurrected.

OK, Here’s where you make the biggest error of all. Typhon is from Greek mythology. The website you got this from did not bother to look that this myth is often mixed with greek mythology. In the mixture Typhon is often listed as Seth, Horus’ uncle. Seth deposed and killed Osiris, Horus fought and eventually deposed Seth (or Typhon if you prefer.)

So you could say that Typhon did indeed betray Horus but Horus killed him for it.

Not very Christ like hmmm?

That’s just the first one you mentioned I could go on but I think the point is made…

DO A BIT OF RESEARCH BEFORE YOU CUT AND PASTE A BUCH OF STUPID INFO I COULD PULL APART WITH NOTHING MORE THAN A BIT OF KNOWLEDGE I LEARNED IN HIGH SCHOOL 20 YEARS AGO!

EDIT: Just out of curiosity I did a bit of research on Mithra as I was not familiar with him. In less than 10 minutes I found at least 6 sources to punch 100 holes in your Mithra story too.

Your source looks to be nothing more than one of those emails that snopes.com would discredit.

Maria asks…

How do Christians explain this?

How do Christians explain the fact that there a so many “Saviours” with pretty much the exact same story as Jesus. Example:

Horus of Egypt (3000 BC) Born December 25th of a virgin, there was a star in the east, three kings, teacher at 12, baptized and started a ministry at the age of 30, he had 12 disciples, performed miracles, known as the lamb of god, the truth, the light, etc. He was crucified, dead three days and resurrected.

And many others who share the same or a very similar story:
Attis of Greece (1200 BC)
Krishna of India (900 BC)
Dionysus of Greece (500 BC)
Mithra of Persia (1200 BC) Also worshipped on Sunday
Chrisna of Hindustan
Budha Sakia of India
Salivahana of Bermuda
Zulis of Zhule, also Isis and Osiris of Egypt
Odin of Scandinavia
Crite of Chalea
Zoroaster Of Persia
Baal and Taut “The only begotten of God” from Phoenecia
Indra of Tibet
Bali of Afghanistan
Jao of Nepal
Wittoba of the Bilingonese
Thammuz of Syria
Atys of Phrygia
Xamolxis of Thrace
Zoar of the Bonzes
Adad of Assyria
Deva Tat and Sammonocadam of Siam
Alcides of Thebes
Mikado of the Sintoos
Bedru of Japan
Hesus or Eros and Bremrillah of the Druids
Thor, son of Odin of the Gauls
Cadmus of Greece
Hil and Feta of the Mandiates
Gentaut and Quexalcote of Mexico
“Universal Monarch” of the Sibyls
Ischy of the Island of Formosa
Divine teach of Plato
“Holy One” of Xaca
Fohi and Tien of China
Adonis, son of virgin Io of Greece
Ixion and Quirinus of Rome
Promethius of Caucasus

Can Christians give any answer other than “Satan did it!” or “God did it to test our faith!”? If there are any who can, please do so.

I never referenced any movie. I referenced a website. Learn to read.
No, Ernie, I can’t. But can YOU find any historical evidence that Jesus existed, that hasn’t been proven false, and without using the Bible to support the Bible?
Can anyone give me a non-biased source that proves these false? Everything I’m finding keeps giving me the same info.
Katie do your research. And don’t use Wikipedia. Look it up, there’s tons and tons of websites that say the same thing.

“Here is a small list of writers that lived during the time of Jesus, aside from two forged passages in the work of a Jewish author, and two disputed passages in the work of Roman writers, there is to be found no mention of Jesus Christ in this mass of Jewish and Pagan writers.

EDIT: They don’t “explain it” they just DENY it. There is only one savior of man/son of God. That is all you will get out of a Christian.

Amen! Amon… Same difference… It’s because of the Sun. The Sun is their savior. Their just too proud to admit it. The Sun is too substantial to promote blind faith. Unless you stare at it too long.

The Egyptian culture is the foundation on which the Bible is built. There is no culture that comes before the Egyptians in the Bible. In the ancient Egyptian language, vowels were interchangeable. Amen is defined in the bible as GOD! AMON RAH is the MAIN GOD in the Egyptian religion. Vowels were interchangeable.

Sun = Son
Amen = Amon

Amon Rah transformed it’s self into all other Gods. It’s all quite interesting.
