Internet Marketing Resources for Offline and Online Marketing

Website Design Business for Local Businesses

Through the years I’ve always been fascinated by website design. When all the guru’s said don’t worry about how to build a website…just pay someone else. Well, I couldn’t take that advice I had to learn how to build a website. And, I’m really glad I did.

Learning website design has allowed me to do many different things and continue to learn various aspects of web design over the years. Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of knowing web design is the freedom it gives you.

Getting started in the make money online niche is very difficult. You’ll read about all those who’ve succeeded but I bet you will struggle for a long time and maybe even quite before you reach your desired success. If you know web design, if you know how to build websites, if you know how to setup a blog then you can perform these services for others and it can become quite profitable.

These days you can find many local businesses that need websites. They might have websites but it doesn’t do anything for them. As a knowledged internet marketer and website designer you can help that poor business man turn his website into an integral money making component of his business. After you build the website, you’ll have to do some seo work, he’ll probably need an autoresponder and then he’ll need a hosting service. These are all things that will profit you on a monthly basis while working with offline marketing for local businesses.

Paul Barrs does a quick talk about how he started doing website design and gives some pointers. This little youtube clip is probably worth more than 90% of the “offline gold” ebooks and courses…..hope you enjoy!

Autoresponders – a Great Tool for Your Business

The most effective way to follow up with your customers or leads is by using an autoresponder. If you are not familiar with an autoresponder, I suggest you get started because this tool is essential for your business. Once you learn how to set one up, you will be able to communicate with all your prospects and costumers easily because it will deliver your messages every day, 365 days a year. It will save you a lot of time and it will increase your sales.

There are a wide range of autoresponders out there. Prices differ depending which company you use. Most of them offer a free trial and others offer a free subscription for as long as you want. Keep in mind that when you use a free autoresponder, ads will be included in the messages you are sending to your people. For this reason it is not a good idea to use a free one but, they are great for starting out because you can learn how to set one up. Once you learn how to set one up, you can always upgrade or go find a better one somewhere else.

Writing the follow up letters is where most people have a difficult time. But if you are working with an affiliate program chances are that they already have a follow up series. If they do not have a series of messages set up, you can ask your up line for help. He or she might be using one already but if not, he or she can always put you in touch with someone above them.

Another way to create your own follow up letters is by doing a search on ads advertising your company. If you find one that has a splash page then sign up so you can get their follow up letters. You can ask if you can use them or you can rewrite them. Some times you will get emails ads in your email box advertising your company. Make sure you save everything and next thing you know, you will have a lot of material that will help you create your own follow up letters.

The most well known autoresponders out there are AWeber and GetResponse. Get response has great audio instructions that show you how to set theirs. They walk you through each step and they are very easy to follow. This is a great way to get started.

One thing I do not recommend from getresponse is to purchase their leads because it can take months before they fulfill just a couple of hundred leads.

AdLandPro has a good autoresponder and it is very easy to set up. When you are at the “Autoresponder Home” page just click on the “How To Set Up Autoresponder” link and just take it from there. It is around $14 a month but it is worth it. You can create a lot of different campaigns and can upload leads easily. Note – AdLandPro is a Social Network that has been in business for years.

According to some network marketers autoresponders can increase your sales up to 400% or more when a campaign is set up properly. It is worth to learn how to use this amazing tool and implement it in your business.

Hector has been in Network Marketing for 10 years and he has experienced his share of failures. When he first started, it was difficult to stay with one program and he kept jumping from one to another. Even though after he settled down, it was difficult for him to find the right program. It was one disappointment after another. The key here is to keep looking for something that works for you and to not give up until you are successful.

Hector Rivera has been in health care over 25 years. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Oregon Sciences University School Of Nursing in 1996. He began his quest for a degree in 1991 without ever taking a single English course and only a six grade education. It was a challenge but in order to reach the top, he had to work very hard until his goal was accomplished.

About Auto Responders

People ask me about auto-responders all of the time. My answer is always the same. To make serious money in the article marketing business, you absolutely need an auto-responder!

The top two in the industry are Aweber and GetResponse. I think you probably couldn’t go wrong by choosing either one of those for your auto-responder needs. Before choosing one, I did a fair amount of research. Ultimately, I decided to go with Getresponse and have been very happy with them. Aweber and GetResponse are actually quite similar as far as features offered. GetResponse is somewhat cheaper. You can start out with their free version and then transfer to a paid subscription.

With GetResponse, you have the ability to set up an unlimited number of campaigns. This is ideal if you have websites in a number of different niches. You can set up different auto-responders for different sites. I also like their spam check system. This feature allows you to design your emails so that spam filters will not think they are receiving spam and send my emails to a bulk file.

I also investigated the autoresponders that reside on your own computer. It is nice in that it gives you complete control over the entire process. These auto-responders were significantly cheaper (some of them were free). However, I decided against it after investigating the laws governing spam. There are some very strict laws in effect regarding spam that carry significant penalties. GetResponse’s procedures keep me out of trouble in that regard and that was very important to me.

GetResponse currently allows unlimited follow-up messages. As time goes on, you will come to realize that is a very important feature. It also provides 19 alternative domain names to receive messages.

It has a spam-check feature to avoid detection by other ISP’s spam filters, and provides a list builder service to help you build your opt-in list (at a cost).

The current price starts at $17.95 per month for a basic account, with a refund period of 30 days. You can get it even cheaper if you sign up for a longer period. Another great feature is the fact that they provide toll-free phone support. Phone support is very important in the event that your computer (or theirs) goes down.

If you are looking for an autoresponder, I can recommend GetResponse very highly.

Autoresponder Challenges: Unexpected Differences Left Rookie Marketer With Egg On Her Face

My autoresponders seemed to work exactly alike. Sure, if I had tested and used the diagnostics, I would have noticed sooner that something was amiss, but I was too busy just keeping up with the newsletters… My first autoresponder was Aweber. It’s extremely user friendly and I quickly learned how to work it. My list grew too, albeit at a glacial pace. To speed things up, I decided to acquire some additional leads by way of co-registration, which meant that basically the service advertised my newsletter and people signed up. Then it sent me their information, and I was supposed to import them into my autoresponder. But there was the rub. Aweber won’t allow that. So I needed a second autoresponder. As it happened, I figured I would need a shoppingcart system anyway, at least eventually, so I signed up for a shopping cart system that came with an autoresponder and that did allow importing my new subscribers. All was well, or so I thought. I fed in the names, I wrote newsletters, but the response I got was zero. I attributed that to the source of the list and stopped advertising my newsletter. Until recently… when I decided to give it another shot, especially since my newsletter had gotten a lot better lately. I also decided I should sign up for my own newsletter (a bit belatedly), and was puzzled when I got bunches of my messages all at once, and then… nothing. What the heck? When one of my mentors mentioned that he sent out “birthday” greetings (with a special offer) to his list members on day 365 since they joined his list, I thought, hmm, won’t that take quite a bit of math to tally up all those numbers? And then it hit me: Aweber and my shopping cart require different labeling systems: Aweber wants me to tell it how many days after the LAST message the new message should be mailed. So I typically added a “3” or a “4.” And it worked beautifully. I did the same with my shopping cart autoresponder. Alas, that’s why I got them all at once. The shopping cart sent me all messages labeled with a “3” on the third day, the ones labeled “4” on the fourth, and the ones labeled “5” on the fifth. That clearly was not what I had intended. As it turns out, the shopping cart autoresponder wants its emails labeled by the number of days since day zero, i.e., the welcome message! I also discovered that if I added a message with a number that was lower than the number of days a person had already been a member of that list, he or she would not get that mailing at all. Which means, hardly any of the follow-up messages actually reached their intended audience since I had added them with considerable delay. Not a problem for Aweber, but a big problem for my shopping cart. So I sent a very apologetic broadcast to my list and went about fixing things. I renumbered all the messages and then manually reset the affected list members to the approximate date where they had stopped getting messages to get them caught up with the back messages. Hopefully, they will forgive me and remain on my list. Those that do will probably be a whole lot happier with my newsletter now that it will actually arrive when it is supposed to.

The Ultimate Guide to Online Marketing Systems

I get many questions from solo business owners asking me which online marketing service should they use (or variations thereof):
“I use Constant Contact for my newsletter but want to start selling products via my website. Do I need 1ShoppingCart to do this?”
“Which is the best service to use for my newsletter – Constant Contact or Aweber?”
“I want to use an autoresponder service. Do I need 1ShoppingCart or Aweber?”
You get the idea!
This is something that many solopreneurs find a difficult decision to make; after all there are so many different choices and services available and the cost of each one varies a lot too!
So, which one to choose…
– Should you go with a service like Constant Contact that is purely for newsletter broadcasts and doesn’t have an autoresponder or shopping cart feature?
– What about a service like Aweber for your newsletter broadcasts and also comes with autoresponders, but no shopping cart feature?
– Or should you just go with a service like 1ShoppingCart that has all the features you need but with a hefty price tag?
I sound like an episode of House Hunters don’t I… (If you don’t watch this program you won’t know what I’m talking about!)
To help you decide the best service for you I have put together a list of the Pros and Cons of Constant Contact, Aweber, and 1ShoppingCart (although these are by no means the only services available!) I’m using these examples because they’re the ones I get asked the most about, and I also know each of these services very well having used them all over the past few years.
Whichever service you want to use, before you decide…
Ask yourself these two crucial questions:
1. Decide what the long-term goals are for your business? (For example do you plan on just sending out a newsletter or do you want to sell information products via your website and have the ability to follow up with your customers via autoresponders?)
2. Check to see which of these services will meet your long-term goals?
From my own experience I can tell you that going a cheaper router can be a false economy and can lead to its own headaches as your business grows, so carefully consider all of your goals, and the options each service provides, before making your decision. What I’m sharing with you here is a quick overview of each of the three services I mentioned above and the benefit of my experience of each of these systems. Keep in mind when reading through this list, that this is only a very broad overview of each service; you’ll need to refer to each one for specifics.
Constant Contact
Pros
* Has 100’s of HTML templates for you to choose from
* Will automatically convert your HTML email into plain text format
* Has the ability to create as many different interest categories as you need
* Can schedule broadcasts ahead of time and to go out at a set time of day
* Can create a custom sign-up web form for visitors to be automatically added to your database
* Has very detailed click through statistics
Cons
* Is an email marketing-only service, so you cannot create follow-up autoresponders
* Does not have any shopping cart functions
Aweber
Pros
* Has many HTML templates for you to choose form (although not as many as Constant Contact)
* Ability to create as many different lists as you need, i.e. one for your newsletter, another one for your teleclass sign-ups etc.
* Can schedule broadcasts ahead of time and to go out at a set time of day
* Can follow-up with your clients via unlimited autoresponders
* Can create a custom sign-up web form for visitors to be automatically added to your database
* Provides click through statistics
* Has a very high email deliverability rate
Cons
* Does not automatically convert your HTML newsletter into text – you have to copy and paste the information
* Does not have any shopping cart functions
1ShoppingCart
Pros
* You can manage your entire business through this one service – newsletters, autoresponders, shopping cart, affiliate program
* Offers different levels of service depending on your needs
* Can follow-up with your clients via unlimited autoresponders
* Can create a custom sign-up web form for visitors to be automatically added to your database
Cons
* No HTML templates so you will either need to get someone to prepare your broadcasts for you, or have your own HTML software and prepare your broadcasts in this program and upload to 1SC
* Doesn’t have the ability to create a text version of your HTML newsletter – you will need to do this yourself and upload to 1SC
* Has a technical interface, so if you’re not comfortable using technology you may find this service difficult to use
* Can schedule broadcasts to go out ahead of time, but can’t set a specific time of day
Conclusion: Carefully consider all of your options before deciding on a service and see if that service will meet your long-term goals. If you prefer to use a broadcast-only service initially, Constant Contact would be a good choice, and you can then find a shopping cart service later on as your business grows. Keep in mind though that if you do go this route you will be running and maintaining two separate databases – one for your newsletter broadcasts, and the other for your online product sales.Online Business Manager & Virtual Assistant, Tracey Lawton, teaches online service professionals how to operate an efficient, organized, and profitable business. Discover Internet Marketing Solutions for Online Success

Big businesses and small businesses alike are looking for an internet marketing solution to bring them the best targeted traffic that can be most easily converted into sales. With all of the options out there for marketing your business, it’s hard sometimes to see the best methods for getting traffic and enticing that traffic to buy your product or service.  But savvy marketers have a great internet marketing solution to keep consumers thinking about your company in a good way, and make it much more likely that someone will buy from you.

The best internet marketing solution for almost every type of business is to start at least one opt-in mailing list. Years ago, direct marketers purchased mailing lists from companies that gathered the information.  These lists were just names and addresses of people culled from a variety of sources. Business owners would then send a piece of mail to each person on the list in the hopes that some would want the product or service offered enough pay for it. Spam is a similar type of thing, only done through email.  People send out the same message to hundreds or thousands of people, just hoping a few will bite.

This is a highly inefficient and undesirable way to email people about your business.  Not only can it get your account shut down, it’s not like to do anything but alienate the people you’re trying to sell to.  But if you had a list of people who were already interested in your product or service and all of those people said it was perfectly okay to send them emails that advertise your company, wouldn’t that be an internet marketing solution that would solve some problems?

If you set up your own email list that people have to agree to join, then you have that targeted list of people who have given you permission to contact them. You can email them as rarely or as often as you want (you don’t want to hound people, but you don’t want them to forget you, either). And you can advertise whatever you want in these emails, without worry of being tagged for spamming people, since they all agreed to get emails from you when they signed up for the mailing list.

An opt-in mailing list is an internet marketing solution that prevents you from having to do the scatter shot mailing list marketing of the pre-Internet marketing era. The trick is to get people to sign up for your list.  Unless they’ve already purchased from you and are considering purchasing from you again, you’re not likely to attract many people by asking them to join a list so you can send them ads.

Offer your visitors something for signing up for your list.  It can be a discount on something you offer, or better yet, give them good information, they kind they were looking for when they searched and found your site. The age-old lure of the freebie is the internet marketing solution for building a mailing list.

One of the most important tools for any internet marketer is having an autoresponder. You can get a script and host  your own autoresponder…however, I highly suggest against that.

I strongly urge anyone interested in building a email list….use a 3rd party service like Aweber. They are professionals and your email is ensured to get through the spam filters.
