I had to do a quick review of WP Twin because you just won’t believe how powerful this application is for backing up a wordpress blog or cloning a wordpress blog. Since WordPress has become so popular and there are many wp users, an effective backup solution is absolutely necessary until now there really wasn’t an easy solution to backing up wordpress blogs…… read my WP Twin Review and you’ll be thanking me latter!
First of all WP Twin is a product from Jason Fladlien. Jason is a young guy compared to me, but has been prolific in providing the internet marketing community with high quality products. Jason seems to avoid the hype and presents just the facts. He has a huge following of loyal students and admirers….all anxious to learn how to make money online. It’s easy to learn from Jason’s teaching techniques and that’s why I can easily recommend his script for duplicating wordpress blogs called WP Twin. WPTwin is an amazing application…..almost too simple.
WP Twin is not a wordpress plugin. It’s actually a script and using it is a very simple process. I won’t go into any detail for using wp twin, however, if you know how to use ftp software such as Filezilla to upload files to your host…..then you can easily clone your blog. So, WP Twin is very newbie friendly. Read this WP Twin Review thoroughly and you’ll see how excited I am about this new wordpress backup method.
Backing up wordpress databases and backing up your wordpress files has been made easier over the years, however, it’s still one of those processes that you really don’t look forward to doing. WP Twin involves dragging 2 files via ftp to your hosted wordpress blog. Next you past a url in your browser and then click on a button. Presto…..WP Twin creates a full duplicate of your wordpess blog….I’m talking all the files, not just the database or not just the wordpress files……everything is packed into one nice file that is downloaded to your local hard drive.
At this point you can save the file for a backup or you can use it to clone and create an exact copy of the original blog. To recreate your cloned blog all you need is to have a fresh copy of wordpress installed at another location….. it could be a folder, subdomain or another domain. Once again, just paste a url into your webbrowser and click a button…. presto your blog is restored or reproduced!
In reviewing WP Twin I couldn’t believe how fast you can create a clone and install it. It literally will take you less than a minute. If you are brand spanking new but know how to ftp it might take a couple of minutes to follow the directions ….. then copy your first wordpress site, set up an empty wordpress installation and install the cloned wordpress blog you just made. WP Twin is simply amazing. I hate using such hypey terms but the entire process of backing up a wordpress database, wordpress system files, wordpress theme and wordpress plugins can be accomplished in as little as 2 minutes even if you’re a complete wordpress newbie. After a couple of times cloning a wordpress blog with WP Twin you will be creating clones in under a minute

Ok…. you ask yourself, “Why would I want WP Twin, why would I want to clone my wordpress blog?”
The obvious answer is that it makes a complete copy of your entire blog, if fact, you can copy your entire site. I’ve heard that furture upgrades will include incremental cloned files. This means that you can always have a current exact copy of your website and wordpress blog. Remember, the process only takes a copy of minutes and you don’t have to backup the database and system files seperately.
But…what if you were in the business of building websites for others. In particular, what if you were creating websites for small businesses and were in the offline local marketing niche. Its easy to create a standard html website and transfer the files, but if you try to build a wordpress blog for your local small business client. Building the blog and then transferring it to another domain is a royal pain in the butt! However, its no longer a problem because WP Twin makes the process of transferring a blog to another domain absolutely painless.
In the review of wp twin I’ve come up with many uses to save time and make money. You truly won’t believe how easy it is to clone a worpdress blog.
Here’s one more though. It doesn’t matter what your market is but if they would benefit by having a wordpress blog as a website you could do a mockup on your domain. You could even do a standardized version for different niches. Such as, Dentists. Create a nice looking standardized blog for dentist’s. Add some standard content, videos, images and maybe even an autoresonder. Now you can market your services to any dentist and show them your website…..tell them “this is what you will get”. When then purchase, you simply use WP Twin to clone the existing blog and upload it to their website.
Maybe you have a client with an existing wordpress blog and they are having problems or they want it remodeled. You could just get the log in info and hack away at their blog. But……what if you mess something up and crash their blog. Obviously you’ll be in big trouble.
Why not just make a copy of your clients blog with WP Twin and install it on one of your domains. Now you can hack away, change the theme, add content, delete or paste new code …….get it looking just perfect. Now, contact the client. Give them your url and have them OK the revisions. Send the bill and get paid! Once you’re paid (very important) use WP Twin to install the new site on your customers domain. Everybody wins…customer is happy and you’ve been paid. Let’s face it, if you’ve ever built websites for clients you know how they can take advantage of you….. that’s not going to happen thanks to WPTwin!
I’ve used a couple of recommended plugins to backup my database for wordpress blogs, I’ve used some stand alone scripts that backup wp blogs and I’ve even downloaded the mysql database from cpanel in an effort to stay on top of my wordpress backups. I’ve either tried or used many different wordpress backup solutions based on what other experts had to say about backing up wordpress blogs. I had a scare the other day. I upgraded a huge blog of mine to wordpress 3.1 and it broke. Next I had to try to restore using either Acronis or an automatically backed up database…… it was a real nightmare.
If I had been using WP Twin in the above situation, my wordpress backup would have taken literally seconds.
One more example of where I think WP Twin will make a big difference. I have purchased preconfigured, created wordpress blogs. These are typically adsense type sites, but I use them as place holders or starters for larger sites. Anyway, if you’ve ever purchased a wordpress blog like this you know what a pain in the butt it is to upload the site and make changes so it is YOUR site. You can easily spend 30 minutes to an hour uploading the new blog, adding the plugins and making necessary changes so it is configured to your domain. Guess what? A quick WP Twin review will show you how easy it can now be to install an adsense wordpress blog.
Take a look at some of these comments on WP Twin from an internet marketing forum
I’m all for WPTwin, Jason Fladlien’s product, I’ve tried it on my BLOGS that are well over 1GB and it works flawlessly…
I tried Blog Zapper, won’t clone anything over 10MB or so, and other products, they’re all 20th Century compared to WPTwin…I currently use WP Desktop Installer, great product but not even close to WPTwin, as far as capabilities…
You get my vote Jason, now do a “Developer’s Version” and it’s a “Complete” Arsenal….

After watching the Webinar, is it possible to clone the Primary Domain and also include all Add-On domain files and folders in the clone? This would be backing up your entire hosting account….is this possible?
Yeap, just did it.There’s a checkbox in Wp Twin:
“Include Non-WordPress Folders”
Note: Selecting this option while cloning a blog on the Primary Domain will also include all Add-On domain files and folders in the clone, and will copy these to files and folders to the destination when deploying the clone. This is NOT recommended for a Primary Domain if you also have Add-On domains configured. If you are not sure what to do, leave this unchecked. ”I cloned a blog from a primary domain (installed in the root). And with this checkbox checked wptwin also packed another blog installed in the addon-domain.
So YES with WP Twin you can effectively backup your entire hosting account in one GO.
Powerful stuff! Yet very easy to use.

I have been using WPTwin to cloan sites for off line clients. I’ve setup multiple sites as samples in subdirectories. Each are already configured with all my plugins installed and themes installed.
When I sell a site to a client they see the “sample” site which is live. They can actually use it and navigate each page. Then I can cloan that exact site in minutes which saves me 2 to 4 hours of setup time.
