Ask any seasoned professional about online marketing and you will be told that it is necessary to use keywords that aim at potential customers, which beg the question, what the best keywords are and how important are they? What you need to do is to try the long-tail keywords, which are three or four keyword phrases, which are extremely closely related to what you are selling. It is normal for customers to search for exact keywords and these specific searches are more often able to convert into sales than general keywords. A typical customer will usually start off by becoming aware of a product, seek information about such product, evaluate alternatives to the product and then arrive at an informed decision. These steps should help sellers target specific kind of customers, who when they arrive at a decision to buy a product, will use specific search phrases to get the required information. This means that you should use highly specific phrases that have a number of words which will get your website ranked higher in the search results. That would not be the case with general single keywords or even double keywords. The idea is to create pages that can catch hold of searchers that often use long tail keywords. The bottom line is not to focus on two or three general keywords and instead target more than ten to twelve and even hundreds of easily ranked long-tail keywords. It will certainly pay you to have one keyword send you a thousand visitors per day instead of having hundreds of keywords of which only half will send you a single visitor per day.
